Uintah Basin Healthcare provided an update Wednesday on an incident that took place last year. As they previously reported, Uintah Basin Healthcare became aware of unusual activity on their network on November 7th, 2022. They immediately secured the environment and engaged a cybersecurity firm to investigate whether sensitive or protected information may have been affected. According to Wednesday’s announcement, Uintah Basin Healthcare learned in April that protected health information belonging to certain patients that received care between March 2012 and November 2022 may have been accessed. They evaluated potentially impacted information, confirmed identities of those potentially impacted and set up services for them. The good news is that so far there is no evidence that any potentially impacted information has been misused.
