Obviously the pandemic has affected multiple areas of life, among them the ability to visit friends and family during significant events at the hospital. Thankfully, visitation allowances are beginning to expand and Uintah Basin Healthcare has announced new rules in the Labor and Delivery department. “For labor and delivery patients, we allow for 2 designated visitors (in addition to [a] significant other) for the entire length of the patient’s stay,” shares Uintah Basin Healthcare. “We are committed to ensuring a safe environment while focusing on the patient experience.” First time parents Weston and Oakley Cannon delivered their baby on the day the new guidelines were implemented and the entire family was so grateful for the change in policy. “This may seem like a minor thing,” shared their family, “but it means everything in the world to our families and was a very special moment.” Families expecting babies all over the Basin are celebrating this return to something closer to pre-pandemic normal.
