Wednesday was a big day for local professionals in the Career and Technical Education field. Uintah School District reported that teachers, counselors, and administrators from the Daggett, Duchesne, and Uintah school districts, along with faculty and staff from UBTECH, and representatives from local businesses gathered at the Uintah Conference Center on Wednesday for the Uintah Basin Career and Technical Education (CTE) Conference. “International speaker Mark C. Perna [was] the keynote for this year’s conference,” shares the announcement. “Perna is the author of Answering Why: Unleashing Passion, Purpose, and Performance in Younger Generations. His work is focused on empowering parents, educators, and employers to understand and motivate younger generations at new levels.” Following Perna’s presentation, the conference attendees worked collaboratively with their peers from neighboring districts and UBTECH to improve instruction and opportunities for local students in CTE classes.
