The staff and volunteers at the Uintah Animal Shelter have a tough job but they continue to give their all to serve the animals in Uintah County. One thing they often deal with is sickness among the animals and a most recent scare has caused them to close their doors to the public until further notice. Their announcement was made Friday morning and stated that the closure is due to an unknown illness. They are still open to claims but claims only. When asked for clarification, it was explained that the illness is located in the dogs but in fear of transferring it into the cat room, both rooms are closed to the public. The staff thanked the public for their patience and understanding.
