Uintah Animal Control And Shelter SSD: Currently Not Accepting Cats

by | Oct 17, 2024 | News | 0 comments

Uintah Animal Control and Shelter Special Service District will not be accepting cats for at least the next week. The announcement was made on Wednesday, stating, “Please do not trap cats or bring in your cat to surrender. We have been battling Feline panleukopenia for close to a month now. It is almost impossible to get under control with the amount of cats that are coming in. If you are a cat owner in the area of roughly 2800 South 600 East in the Naples area please keep your cats home and up to date on vaccines, as we have narrowed it down to roughly that area.” Also called feline distemper, this disease is highly contagious and potentially fatal. Kittens are most severely affected. All are thanked for their cooperation. Anyone with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to the shelter by calling 435-781-7297.
