by | Feb 17, 2021 | News | 0 comments

Avalanche danger in the Uinta Mountains has been upgraded to Extreme! Please be safe if you are spending time in Utah’s backcountry. Anybody going into or near the mountains today should avoid being near or under any steep slope; this includes activities like skiing, snowshoeing, running, sledding, or dog walking. The warning of extreme dangerous avalanche conditions went into effect Tuesday at 6am and will last into Wednesday. “Natural and human triggered avalanches are certain over the next several days,” shares the Utah Avalanche Center. “Stay off of and out from under slopes steeper than 30 degrees.”
