With winter weather more widespread, even the most seasoned drivers should review winter travel safety practices and take them seriously. Highway Patrol Sgt. Kellie Oaks has plenty of tips for winter travel. “We would encourage everyone to plan ahead,” shares Sgt. Oaks. “Leave early so you don’t feel rushed. Reduce your speeds, buckle up, and ensure your tires can handle inclement weather including checking tire pressure!” People driving too fast is the main cause of crashes in the winter.
