Gear up for more orange construction cones on Uintah County roadways. According to a UDOT announcement, SR 121 will be resurfaced through Maeser and Vernal Main Street. Work could begin as early as April 5th and will continue through mid-September. The six mile distance stretches from Milepost 34 and down Vernal Main Street. It will include removing and replacing the top 2 inches of asphalt, adding sidewalk, and making curb and gutter improvements to enhance pedestrian safety. “As a part of this project, crews will also be resurfacing the asphalt on Main Street from 700 West to 500 East,” shares UDOT. “During construction, motorists anticipate intermittent one-way traffic conditions with flagging operations on SR 121, intermittent lane closures, on street parking limitations, and moderate travel delays between 7am and 8pm Monday through Friday.” All are asked to use extra caution in the construction zones.
