UBTech Automotive and Welding Students Face Off

Some good friendly competition can be a good thing. Vernal UBTech automotive students recently tested their skills against the Roosevelt UBTech automotive students. The contests were held in over 10 different stations with local industry leaders serving as the judges and donating prizes. The competition took place November 8th and winners were Jaron Coonis from Vernal in 1st place, Bryce Vanderlinden from Roosevelt in 2nd place and Joey Newell from Roosevelt in 3rd place. The UBTech beginner’s welding competition resulted in TJ Olsen of Roosevelt taking 1st place, Klay Mendez of Vernal taking 2nd place, and Ben Martinez of Roosevelt taking 3rd place. The advanced welding competition ended with Cole Redding of Vernal in 1st place, Branson Gross of Vernal in 2nd place, and Mark O’Driscoll of Roosevelt in 3rd place. Congratulations to all who competed and the winners.
