At a banquet held by Uintah Basin Technical College on October 18th at UBTech’s
Roosevelt campus, Ella Cook was named 2022-2023 Student of the Year.
The honor has been in place for nine years now and gives the recipient a cash prize. It also has some unique duties, as the student of the year is considered UBTech’s ambassador for technical
college for that year. They are asked to be at community events and to speak at graduation, parent night, and other events including banquets and parades. To be considered for the honor, students must go through an application and interview process that includes submitting an essay and preparing a speech to be given to members of the selection committee.
Congratulations to Ella Cook and good luck to her as she continues her medical assisting program at UBTech while also serving as UBTech’s ambassador.
