Representatives from the Uintah Basin Association of Governments presented at the Vernal Chamber Luncheon this week sharing valuable information about their various programs. David Rust shared information on the Commercial Development Loan Fund (CDLF) and the UBEDD CARES Act Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). UBEDD received a $1,020,000 grant to be loaned in small amounts to businesses. The first round of applications closed on March 22, 2021 and the second round will open in about a month. Ivy Phillips presented about the HEAT program which is designed to assist lower income families with utilities. “The service is available year around and qualified payments are made direct to the utility company. A person does not have to be behind on utilities to apply. Kim Dieter spoke about the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
