UBAOG Calls For Community Volunteers

by | Jan 10, 2020 | News | 0 comments

Uintah Basin Association of Government representative Lauren Schwanz announced during Tuesday’s Chamber luncheon that they are always in need of volunteers from the community to help with their programs. Volunteers are currently needed to learn more about tax law and help people with tax preparations. Last year, they were able to help 400 people and they would like to increase that number this year. Other programs in need of volunteers include the Foster Grandparent Program and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. The Foster Grandparent Program is for volunteers at least 55 years old who can assist children that need some extra help in school. There may be a stipend and mileage reimbursement for volunteers and volunteers may eat a free meal at the school. The Retired Senior Volunteer Program has volunteers that also help in schools with a variety of activities. Those interested in volunteer opportunities can call 435-722-4518.
