A traffic stop in Duchesne City on Monday ended in arrest for both of the vehicle’s occupants. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the driver was identified as 31-year-old Cody Austin Mayhew and it was found that he was on probation with AP&P and that his license was denied. Noticing that the female passenger appeared nervous and possibly under the influence of drugs, the officer requested her identification which she said she did not have but she provided a name and birthdate which the officer was unable to find a match for. The officer had Cody exit the vehicle and observed indications of narcotics use. Cody’s parole agent was contacted to come to assist on the stop. While waiting, the officer was able to conclude that the passenger’s name was actually Ember Clapper and found that there was a statewide warrant for her arrest. Both individuals were taken into custody. Ember had multiple melted Tooter pipes with residue in them on her person and inside her property. One tested positive for amphetamines and another tested positive for fentanyl. Drug paraphernalia and a needle that tested positive for meth was found in Cody’s property as well as a fentanyl pill. Cody failed field sobriety testing. Cody Austin Mayhew is charged with two counts of 3rd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Paraphernalia and DUI charges. 35-year-old Ember Nicole Clapper is charged with Misdemeanor Possession charges and Providing a Peace Officer with False Personal Information, as well as Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance within a Correctional Facility.
