Trio Petroleum issued a press release last week with an update on the Asphalt Ridge Project located in Uintah County. The successful drilling and completion of the first two exploratory wells encountered substantial oil-bearing pay zones in the Rimrock and Asphalt Ridge tar-sands in June. A downhole-heater was installed on one of the wells and in September, they announced their first oil production with the oil production continuing to-date. Last week’s announcement shared that the other well is scheduled to receive a new downhole heater in early December and should commence oil production shortly thereafter. Engineering for a further six wells has been completed and permits are expected shortly. Trio Petroleum Corp. is headquartered in Bakersfield, California, with operations in California and Uintah County, Utah.
