TriCounty Health shared the following statement on Wednesday afternoon: ‘TriCounty Health Department (TCHD) is only releasing county location information on positive COVID-19 cases at this time. “Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 have a right to privacy,” stated Jordan Mathis, TriCounty Health Officer. “Due to the small number of positive cases we have at this time, releasing data at anything lower than the county level would potentially jeopardize that privacy.” TCHD will continue to protect the medical information of individuals who test positive. As positive case numbers increase, TCHD will be updating its local situational update twice a day, at 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. As case numbers increase it will be unreasonable for TCHD to release a statement per case. The daily updates will include county location, hospitalization numbers, and estimated test numbers for the tri-County area. The TCHD Public Health Order is in effect. TCHD also recommends everyone follow Governor Herbert’s Stay Safe, Stay Home Directive. By following the Order and the Governor’s directive risk is lowered and community-acquired transmission of COVID-19 will slow. TCHD thanks local communities for following these guidelines and lowering risk to one another.’
