TriCounty Health Department has provided clarification concerning the data provided on their COVID-19 Situational Update page on www.tricountyhealth.com. From the time COVID-19 made its presence known in the TriCounty Health District, the health department has reported the overall total individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 based on PCR Positive results. Individuals were considered Recovered after 21 days and as there began to be Recovered cases, TriCounty Health added those numbers to the data provided. Because the data remained confusing to some, TriCounty Health has now added a count of Active Cases which are simply the difference between the Overall Total cases and the number of Recovered cases. Active Cases are COVID-19 positive individuals who are not yet considered Recovered. The Tuesday COVID-19 Situational Update on www.tricountyhealth.com shows that the overall total number of cases for the entire TriCounty Health District is 73. Uintah County has 17 Active Cases and 28 Recovered. Duchesne County has 10 Active Cases and 14 Recovered. The Ute Indian Tribe has 4 Active Cases and 0 Recovered. Daggett County remains at 0 cases and the estimated total number of tests conducted in the tri-county area is reported as 5,747. The overall Hospitalizations to date are 3 in Uintah County and 2 in Duchesne County. For those that believe they have been exposed to COVID-19, wait a minimum of 7 days to get a COVID-19 test to allow for more accurate results. Anyone that is symptomatic is encouraged to get the test right away, even if it has been less than 7 days from suspected exposure.
