TriCounty Health: New Regulations for Commercial Water Haulers

by | Feb 18, 2020 | News | 0 comments

TriCounty Health shares that there have been new regulations put in place, that started on January 1st, for those that haul water commercially. With parts of the TriCounty area having limited access to water there are residents having water hauled to their homes. Since bacteria can spread so easily in water there are numerous safety measures in place to protect public water systems and now commercial water haulers will be held to a more stringent standard as they are considered essentially an extension of the public water system. This new regulation is NOT for people hauling water to their own residence but is only for commercial water haulers. This is any individual or business that receives compensation for hauling water to the public, which includes individual residences, businesses, work sites, community events, and even summer camps. TriCounty Health Department will start inspecting and permitting water hauling trucks starting in April with applications due by April 1st this year. TriCounty Health will have a list of approved water haulers by April 15th.
