It truly was a magical and generous evening at the Trees For Charity Auction Gala at the Uintah Conference Center on Monday night. Local inspiration Braxten Nielsen worked the crowd as the auctioneer to sell 41 trees to the highest bidders, the night’s total reaching $233,300 dollars! The ‘Healing With Harmony’ Tree to benefit Cindy Hadlock was purchased and rebid several times, receiving bids totalling $31,400 dollars. A special Hunt and Mount auction to benefit Cindy also received $3,500 dollars for a grand total of $34,900 dollars. Cindy is a mother to young children and was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. The ‘Frozen Fantasy’ Tree to benefit Gayle Jackson, another local mother diagnosed with breast cancer, received bids totalling $19,500 dollars. The ‘Christmas Magic’ Tree to benefit Kray Haslem, a local father recovering from a plane crash, received bids totalling $18,000 dollars. The ‘Happy Camper’ Tree for Mia Lovato, a baby waiting on heart surgery among other health struggles, received bids totalling $15,500 dollars while the ‘You’ve Got A Friend In Me’ Tree to benefit Brook Harrison, another mother diagnosed with breast cancer, received bids totalling $14,200 dollars. The Toy Story themed ‘You’ve Got a Friend In Me’ Tree won the 1st Place People’s Choice and Children’s Choice awards. The Disney’s ‘Frozen Fantasy’ Tree was 2nd Place for Children’s Choice and the ‘Happy Camper’ Tree was 2nd Place for People’s Choice. Tree topper donations and silent auction items have yet to be added to the grand total which will be announced available.
