A change is again in store for the Special Service Districts in Uintah County. During Commission meeting this month, Uintah County Commissioner Sonja Norton moved to approve a Resolution to discontinue Transportation Services from Uintah Special Service District 1 and the motion was passed. Commissioner Norton had requested the Resolution be drafted so that the transportation services would function under its own District as it had before. The intent is for the split to be effective December 31st, 2023. On September 14th, 2020, the Uintah County Commission met to consider making changes to the Special Service Districts. The Commission passed a motion to create one new Special Service District to be over Recreation, Transportation, and Impact Mitigation, which were at that time each their own district.
