A traffic stop last week in Whiterocks resulted in arrest. Upon being pulled over, 62-year-old Wanda Warden exited the vehicle and began walking towards a house but stopped when officers commanded. Warden had a warrant and was detained. A state certified narcotic detection canine was deployed and gave an alert on the vehicle. When asked, Warden said she had last used methamphetamine that morning and had last used fentanyl within the hour. She stated she used 4 to 5 fentanyl pills per day. Warden had a glass vial with 4 fentanyl pills. Later at the Uintah County Jail she was asked if she had any contraband on her person and she stated no. Eventually Warden pulled 3 bags from her bra; 2 bags had methamphetamine and the other had 48 fentanyl pills. She admitted to selling fentanyl pills. She was charged with 2nd Degree Felony Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Correctional Facility, 3rd Degree Felony DUI, and other misdemeanor offenses.
