A traffic stop in Myton on February 24th resulted in the arrest of multiple individuals. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the vehicle was pulled over for speeding and after identifying the four occupants by their drivers licenses, officers discovered that two of the individuals were on parole and one was on probation. The officer performed a parole check on the two men and the front of the vehicle where they were sitting and nothing of evidentiary value was found. The officer then asked the individual who was not on parole or probation to step out of the vehicle and asked for permission to search the property at her feet. She stated that the bags were all hers and consented to the search. When away from the others, she reported that she had a lot of items on her and revealed fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, and paraphernalia. She claimed that as soon as the vehicle was being pulled over the others started putting items in her lap to conceal in addition to her own illegal items. This was confirmed in interviews with the others and it was stated that items were dropped through a hole in the passenger rear floor as well. All four individuals were arrested. Due to prior drug convictions, 27-year-old Tristian Mathew Tippetts and 28-year-old Shaden Kevin Thompson were arrested on felony level drug charges.
