A traffic stop in Uintah County on October 20th ended in arrest after a K9 officer gave a positive indication of the presence of illegal narcotics, particularly on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger, 42-year-old Scott Allen Able, denied having any illegal substances but a search of the vehicle revealed a black zipper style case found with Abel’s possessions that contained syringes and methamphetamine. A sharps container was also found with several disposed syringes inside that Abel admitted were used to inject methamphetamine, including that day. Abel was placed under arrest and denied having any further contraband on his person. After arriving at the jail, an additional bag of methamphetamine was found in his pant’s pocket. Abel is facing drug charges but was released and is scheduled to appear in court on November 25th.
