It’s been a wild few days for storms throughout the region with warnings and watches
especially catching attention of community members on Thursday. A brief and slight risk
of tornado caused some stir on social media but it was quickly lifted as the small risk
dissipated. Still, the severe thunderstorm watch warning of potential 70 mph winds and
large hail kept everyone on their toes. The severe thunderstorm watch focused most on
northwestern Colorado but also included northeastern Utah, especially Daggett and
Uintah Counties. The reports from National Weather Service on Friday morning continue
to predict showers and thunderstorms with strong to severe storms and localized flash
flooding possible but more in the form of a forecast and less as a watch or warning. Still,
it would be wise to check on the latest reports before heading out on outdoor adventures
this weekend as weather can change its mind rather quickly!
