Have you been getting out to gather shed antlers? Here’s a few things to keep in mind. Late winter and early spring is the toughest time of the year for deer, elk and moose and as a result the Utah DWR requires those that go hunting for sheds to take the Antler Gathering Ethics Course. The free course shows individuals how to gather without stressing the animals or damaging the habitat. Any individual planning to gather through April 15th can link to the course through wildlife.utah.gov. Once the course is finished, print out the certificate of completion and carry it while gathering shed antlers.
