For all youth looking forward to the waterfowl hunt, plan to attend the Youth Waterfowl Hunting Clinic on Saturday. Hosted by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and the Uintah Basin Chapter of Delta Waterfowl, the clinic is a requirement for all youth who want to participate in the mentored duck hunt on Saturday, September 14th. For everyone else, it is a great way to learn new tricks and techniques. The clinic will feature a variety of stations to help hunters practice skills for the field including: duck identification, setting up blinds, shooting, duck calling, training dogs, and decoy arrangements. The clinic will provide ammunition, clay pigeons, safety goggles, and hearing protection, as well as having several shotguns available. Individuals are also welcome to bring their personal shotguns. It is suggested that participants and their parents bring their own water and snacks and to dress accordingly. While the clinic is free, all participants (youth, parents, observers, and helpers) will need to sign a waiver form when registering. No one will be permitted unless they agree to the waiver. If you want to be part of the clinic meet at Pelican Lake near Ouray at 10am. It will go until 1pm.
