The Spongebob Musical opened on the Uintah High School Auditorium stage over the weekend to energetic crowds. The enthusiasm and fun of the show was contagious with smiles all around, even on the faces of adults who started out as just there to support and in the end were surprised at how much they thoroughly enjoyed the show. Director Chris Piner explains that the characters in the musical are not in bulky theme park looking costumes, instead you’ll see them in a human form though still with key character traits. “As usual our high school talent will blow you away,” shares Piner. “We have more than 60 students in our cast and crew and a huge team of incredibly talented humans working behind the scenes. Uintah Theatre loves the big spectaculars, and we have another one right now. We have some fun surprises in store and some never before seen special effects. We challenge ourselves to improve and learn and try new things with each show, and oh just you wait. In fact, you might want to see this one more than once.” The remaining shows are tonight and tomorrow, March 6th and 7th and then the 9th through the 11th, all at 7pm. Children under 5 are still not admitted and neither are babes in arms. It’s a full 2 hour show with all seats reserved. Tickets are best purchased in advance through the ticketing website Uintah.Ludus.com.
