Thank goodness for another theatre production opening this week with winter dragging on and the need for an escape never greater. ‘The 39 Steps’, opening Friday at Vernal Theatre: Live, is part espionage mystery and all rolling-in-the-aisles hilarity. The 5-person cast is dynamo local talent and worth the ticket price alone. Cast member Andrea Wardle believes the best way to experience this phenomenal show is to see it more than once. “If you need a serotonin boost, now is the time,” says Wardle. “Why not take your Valentine to a show where you can laugh and see a boring man get caught up in espionage. I’ll feel really bad for those that just come closing night and are kicking themselves for missing the chance to see it again.
