A local high school is making a run for a state championship in their very first year of play. The Terra Academy Boys Basketball team finished their season with 11 wins and just one loss, ranking them first in their division and sending them on a quest for the 2019 USSA state basketball championship for smaller schools in the state of Utah. The Terra Tigers hosted the East Hollywood High Manbears out of West Valley on Wednesday. The Tigers took off taking a 34 point advantage by halftime then coasted to the 83-52 victory. Erik Alexander scored 18 points with Jeremiah Durrant and Logan Peterson each scoring 15 in the victory. The Tigers will now head to Fort Duchesne Friday and Saturday as Uintah River will host the Semi-Finals and Finals.
Friday at 7 o’clock
the Tigers tip off against Vanguard Academy out of West Valley. Hopefully with a win, the Tigers will then play the winner of Layton Christian Academy and Wasatch Academy.
