Terra Academy will have a new director for the 2021-2022 school year. The school recently made the announcement in a press release sharing that the Terra Academy Governing Board accepted Director Cassie Hay’s resignation with a heavy heart this winter [and] after undergoing an extensive search for a new director, the board is pleased to announce that Dr. Dean Wilson will begin his tenure as Executive Director in the  2021-2022 school year. “Cassie has been integral in guiding students to be open-minded, out-of-the-box problem solvers, to become KIND, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE members of society,” Board chair Jim LaMuth stated commenting on Hays’s departure. “She will be truly missed and Terra would probably not exist without her.” Hays opened Terra Academy in 2015 with the vision to help students become independent lifelong learners who are respectful of other cultures, are productive, and are stewards of our environment. Hays stated “Starting Terra Academy has been a heart-felt endeavor for me and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.  It is my sincerest hope that Terra continues to flourish and bring students opportunities they would not have otherwise had.” Dr. Wilson will officially start on July 1, 2021.
