A previous closure on the Ashley National Forest has been reinstated as heavy rains have created similar issues in the area in question. “The temporary closure order for the Brown Duck Basin Trail 062 and 062A due to washouts and ravines making them dangerous for use has been reissued,” shares forest officials. “The washouts occurred in 2023 due to heavy rains and debris flows which were an effect from the East Fork Fire of 2020.” This new closure does not include the Lake Fork Trail 061 which had previously been closed but remains open and available for public use. This closure prohibits anyone from being on Brown Duck Basin Trail 062 and 062A unless otherwise exempt as outlined in the order.
