A temporary closure has been scheduled for the Dinosaur Quarry Exhibit Hall at Dinosaur National Monument for later this year. National Park Service made the announcement on Monday, stating that major road, parking lot, and sidewalk reconstruction will take place from September 8th through late October. “We recognize that people travel from across the country and around the globe to see the dinosaur fossils at the monument, and this closure is an unfortunate impact to visitors and our local communities,” shares Superintendent Phil Akers, “but it is necessary to correct some serious issues and preserve access for the future.” The remaining 210,000 acres of Dinosaur National Monument will remain open, including the Quarry Visitor Center and Fossil Discovery Trail.
