Team Uintah is shining the spotlight on a woman who taught for nearly 35 years and continues to give her time by volunteering with the Uintah School Foundation. “Vernie Heeney has been an incredible support for our schools and students,” shares Team Uintah. “Vernie retired from Uintah School District in 2008 after teaching for nearly 35 years.” In addition to her work with the Uintah School Foundation, Vernie serves as a mentor to many new teachers in the district and works as a substitute teacher. “Vernie’s positive impact on our students and our schools clearly demonstrates her love for our community,” continues Team Uintah. “We are grateful to have someone of Vernie’s caliber helping to make our district great.
