The magnesium chloride treatment on Taylor Mountain Road is complete and the gate is now open for the season. Taylor Mountain Road was initially closed for road improvements that endured delays due to rain, snow, and temperatures prohibiting the completion of the project on time. The road improvements included the prep work and treatment of the road with magnesium chloride to improve it for the coming season. Magnesium chloride bonds the road surface and reduces dust and loose gravel and weather conditions have to be suitable for proper placement and successful treatment. The closure of the road is an important part of the process to avoid damaging the treatment. Thankfully the work was a success and Taylor Mountain Road is now open for the season.
