A Sweetwater County man has been sentenced to prison for creating and distributing child pornography. 28-year-old Carl J. Picanco of Green River, Wyoming, pleaded guilty on Monday to felony sexual exploitation of children as well as other charges. SweetwaterNow reported that Picanco told the court that he had been using the dark web to speak with “like minded people” for about 5 years where he would chat with others about “kinks and desires”. While chatting on the encrypted chatting app Wickr, other users would share child pornography which he said he was not into but last September a female Wickr user requested he make a video of him performing a pornographic act on a child. He did and shared the video. SweetwaterNow reported that during his testimony Picanco stated he never imagined his addiction to pornography would reach the point it did. He said he deserves to go to prison. Picanco will spend 15 to 24 years in the Wyoming State Penitentiary.
