One suspect was killed in an officer involved shooting in Rangely on Monday. A press release from the 9th Judicial District Critical Incident Team states that on the evening of December 10th, officers with Rangely Police Department and deputies with Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office were investigating a report of a stolen vehicle in Rangely. Upon locating the vehicle in Rangely city limits and attempting to apprehend the suspects, shots were fired. “One of the suspects was shot. He was later declared deceased,” shares the release. “No Officers or Deputies were injured during the incident.” The shooting is being investigated by the 9th Judicial District Critical Incident Team, a multi-jurisdictional team of investigators brought in when law enforcement officers are involved in a shooting. The lead investigating agency is the Colorado Bureau of Investigation in conjunction with the 9th Judicial District Attorney.
