Suspect Arrested in Moffat County Homicide

An arrest has been made in a homicide that took place on Monday in Moffat County. According to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office was advised on the evening of November 30th of a deceased male found in a remote area of northwest Moffat County about 2.75 miles from the Utah/Colorado border. “An initial investigation from the sheriff’s office revealed that the deceased male subject had been shot,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “Based on evidence at the scene, foul play was suspected…As a result of the investigation, the alleged suspect 24-year-old Griffin James Loughlin was located in Salt Lake City, Utah. On December 2nd, the alleged suspect was taken into custody in Utah on an arrest warrant for murder in the first degree. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Ian Richard Tillack.” The following agencies have been involved in the homicide investigation: Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Dinosaur Marshal’s Office, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and the Moffat County Coroner’s Office.
