Dr. Daniel Kwak, local pediatrician and owner of DinosaurLand Pediatrics in Vernal, has made it his business to care for the children in the Uintah Basin. Now those same children and their families are doing what they can to share their love and support for him as he faces his own health crisis. Tragedy struck earlier this year when Dr. Kwak had to be hospitalized as a result of complications from contracting COVID-19. As the word spread, DinosaurLand Pediatrics provided some updates on Facebook concerning Dr. Kwak’s condition as hundreds of patients and their families inquired and delivered cards and gifts to encourage him to keep fighting. The most recent update was on March 10th. “We know you all love and miss Dr. Kwak, we do too!” shared the update. “We can now share that our beloved Dr. Kwak suffered massive strokes while on the ventilator due to complications from COVID-19. Because of this he has many physical, mental & visual challenges he is working hard to overcome. He is currently in a rehabilitation therapy facility and will be there for quite some time. He is getting stronger every day!” Encouragement from the community continues to be welcomed.
