Makaela Simpson has been achieving all kinds of firsts in her two years of wrestling. Now she will be the first from the Moffat County High School girls wrestling team to compete on a collegiate level as she recently signed a letter of intent to join the Iowa Western Community College women’s wrestling team this fall. She started wrestling as a junior, placing fifth in her weight class. The next year she helped to form the first girls team in Craig. She won multiple events, including the Tournament of Champions in Vernal. Makaela then won the Region 4 championship that allowed her to return to state where she ended up state runner up and with a senior record of 13-5.
