The Uintah Conference Center was full of energy and great minds last week at the Utah State University Uintah Basin Science Fair for local middle school students. The students who placed in the top three in Biological Science, Physical Science, Social Science, and Engineering in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade divisions have qualified to compete at the Ritchey Science & Engineering Fair at Weber State University this spring. Students that placed 1st in the Engineering Category were Ryker Madson for 6th grade, Claire Davies for 7th grade, and Cameron DeBerard for 8th grade. Those that placed 1st in the Biological Sciences Category were Kaizley Clegg for 6th grade, Easton Brunson for 7th grade, and Alex Davies for 8th grade. In the Physical Sciences Category, 1st place winners were Branlon Mortenson for 6th grade, Avery Wood for 7th grade, and Marcus Purcell for 8th grade. In the Social Sciences Category the 1st place winners were Rory Harrison for 6th grade, Tyler Huber for 7th grade, and Aaliyah Vaughn for 8th grade. Over a dozen community partners also recognized students with special awards. Well done to all the competitors!
