Last Wednesday, USU held its Utah State University Uintah Basin Science Fair at the Uintah Conference Center. Some distinguished awards from the event include Biggest Idea Award which was won by Uintah Middle School students Dominick Allred and Keltin Anderson, Best Lab Work Award won by Vernal Middle School student Sophia Hanifin, and the Best in Show which was won by UMS student David Pierce. 13 UMS students and 16 VMS students placed in either Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, or Engineering categories. These young scientists are now qualified to compete this March in the Ritchey Science & Engineering Fair at Weber State University. Congratulations to these outstanding student scientists and good luck to those able to compete at next month’s event!
