Strata has had some great events unfolding including a significant amount of funds to help push the fiber-optic network to help reach even more rural areas. Luckily the good news keeps coming as they announced on March 6th that the infrastructure has been finished that will connect Manila High School and Uintah Basin Medical Center’s Manila Health Clinic to access gigabit internet speeds and includes the capacity to grow. CEO and Executive Director of UETN, Ray Timothy, states, “Bringing broadband to Manila High School is a milestone in connecting Utah’s most remote locations to the full potential of online education and healthcare. Students and educators will be able to download high-definition video and participate in live, high-quality video conferencing and other data-intensive applications without interruption or delay. As a result, Daggett residents and visitors will also benefit.” This project will also benefit state and federal entities such as the Utah Department of Transportation, Bureau of Reclamation, and the Forest Service, as well as several other private entities. Strata anticipates that the fiber build to Flaming Gorge Elementary will be completed later this year.
