While it’s been a long process for residents to have sewer installed in the Stonegate/Hancock Cove area, details are coming together on the design phase. According to Roosevelt City, engineering firm Jones and DeMille is working through the final details of the sewer line design and the design team is working to get an elevation and location for each sewer tie in point at each home so that it’s ensured that the sewer main line is deep enough while also not too deep. Each resident is asked to make contact by Tuesday so that each sewer connection can be coordinated. The project will add a 2 mile sewer line to the subdivision for a cost of around $5.8 million dollars. The project is being funded with a loan/grant from the Community Impact Board primarily and the Department of Environmental Quality. Residents in the Stonegate/Hancock Cove area outside Roosevelt has suffered serious septic tank failure as the neighborhood dealt with rising water tables. The area was annexed into Roosevelt City as part of the process to address the problem so that sewer could be run to the neighborhood. Residents in that area are asked to call
