Technically, today is the last day to enjoy fireworks as part of Utah’s Pioneer Day holiday but just a heads up, there are fire restrictions in some areas of the state. State fire management officers announced that Daggett County is among other Counties with fire restrictions now in effect for Unincorporated Private and all State Lands. The order prohibits the discharge or use of any kind of fireworks, tracer ammunition, or other pyrotechnic devices including exploding targets. The fire restriction order issued by the state listed the reason for the order as the current and forecasted weather conditions coupled with extremely dry conditions in northeastern Utah. The State Forester consulted with the Daggett County Commission when determining what measures to take to prevent the ignition of forest and rangeland fires. The order does not affect private lands within incorporated towns or city limits. Violations can be punished by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
