The 10th seed the Union Lady Cougz Softball team traveled to Kamas Saturday to start the 3A tournament taking on 7th seed North Sanpete.
Starting off slow, the Cougz put a couple of runs on the board in the third inning, then five in the fourth to take the lead, but the Lady Hawks responded with six runs in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead. Two more Cougar runs in the fifth, then another five in the sixth put Union ahead for good in the 15-11 victory. Allie Earl pitched for the win and helped her own cause with two home runs and seven RBIs in the victory.
Addison Martin and Parker Labrum also went deep for the Cougz.
The Cougars will travel to the Spanish Fork complex on Thursday to match up again with the 2nd ranked South Summit Wildcats that they managed to beat in Kamas last week. Good Luck Cougz!

The Union Cougz Softball team traveled to Kamas to take on the 3A number two seed South Summit Wildcats. It was a back and forth matchup. Malorie Bostick Homered and doubled, while Parker Labrum and Allie Earl also homered as the Cougz fell behind early, then came back to take a two run lead after five innings. The Wildcats scored three in the sixth and the Cougars responded with two in the top of the seventh, but the Wildcats plated two runs in the bottom to edge the Cougars 9-8.
They will once again travel to a pod site in Kamas Saturday to start the 3A tournament taking on 7th seed North Sanpete. With a win, they should face the Wildcats once again.
