Uintah High School Football

The Uintah High Football team hosted the Layton Christian Eagles Wednesday night in an attempt to improve their chances for a home game to start the 5A State tournament. A hard fought back and forth game, with time winding down, the Utes found themselves down 23-22 and the Eagles had just scored, but a penalty negated the score and the Ute defense held, but the Utes were still behind. With just under 90 seconds to go, Josh Speirs connected with Kaedyn Sheffield for a 70 yard bomb to put the Utes ahead. The defense held as the Utes scored the victory 30-23.
 The Utes now await
this weekend’s result to see if they play at home or away next week.
