The stages are set as the 4A state Championships for the Spring Sports get under way this week. The Uintah Boys baseball team finished fourth in Region 10 and will start their state run on Thursday at 4 o’clock, traveling to Millville up by Logan to take on the Ridgeline Riverhawks. They will play them again on Friday at 11 o’clock. If each win a game, they will play again Friday to determine a winner. Should they win the match, they will play again Monday at 4:30.

Join me, Barry Johnson Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock, then Friday at 11am as I call the live play by play action between the Utes and Riverhawks, then on Saturday for the second game between the Lady Utes and the Mustangs.

The Uintah Boys baseball team hosted the Ogden Tigers Thursday on Senior Day, the Utes got started early with Gage Murray and Tavin Betts singling in the first inning, followed by a home run over the left-center fence by Brennan Kunkel to give the Utes a 3-0 lead.
Tavin Betts and Kunkel had back-to-back triples as part of a six hit, seven run second inning by the Utes.
The third inning Kunkel doubled and Morgan Mansfield tripled as the Utes scored five runs, then scored four runs in the fourth inning.
Daniel Wright
gave up only five hits as the Utes mercy ruled the Tigers 19-1.
The Utes will head to a pod site on Thursday the 13
th to start the 4A State Tournament.

The Uintah Boys baseball team had a productive day in Ogden Tuesday, starting off at Ben Lomond to complete a previously suspended game with the Scots. The Utes had loaded the bases when the game was suspended, so started with them loaded. Caleb Sivert smacked a double bringing two runs giving the Utes a 10-4 lead as they went on for the 11-5 victory.
hey then traveled 5 miles up the road to take on the Ogden Tigers. Going down in order the first two innings, Pitcher Karson Murray started the third with a double, Jace Watkins walked then Haiden Reary laid down a bunt with the runners going, the Tiger opted to go to third too late, loading the bases with Utes.
Lead off hitter Aiden Baltrum doubled to the left center gap scoring two and the Utes went on to score six runs in the third inning.
In the fourth, a couple of walks, then a double by Daniel Wright scored two more.
Brennan Kunkle started the fifth inning getting hit by a pitch,
then singles by Morgan Mansfield and Karson Murray loaded the bases, Haiden and Aiden each got plunked scoring two, Wright walked scoring another, Gage Murray singled in a run, then a base clearing three run double by Tavin Betts gave the Utes seven runs in the inning.
Karson Murray spread five hits around pitching a shutout for the 15-0 Utes victory.
The Utes host the Tigers Thursday at 3:30. With a win, the Utes will finish 7-5 finishing fourth in Region 10.
