It’s not uncommon for March Madness to fuel disagreements among sports enthusiasts which was the recent case between 2 inmates in the Duchesne County Jail. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, on March 29th an inmate was attacked by his bunkmate, 21-year-old Tyson Rocco. When interviewed, Rocco stated that a group was talking about March Madness and sports topics. When everyone returned to their cells for the night, Rocco and his bunkmate continued the sports conversation when something was said that Rocco did not like.
While Rocco did not remember what was said, he did say that he got angry and began hitting his bunkmate. Later that night, the bunkmate was transferred to another location. While the victim and no other inmates were willing to talk about what happened, Rocco’s own admission resulted in the additional charge of 3rd Degree Felony Assault by a Prisoner.
