A special program is being offered in Vernal this month and only for the second time. Special Olympics Utah will be providing its Opening Eyes free vision clinic to individuals with intellectual disabilities. “Special Olympics Utah will be offering free vision screenings in a fun, welcoming environment to all,” shares Special Olympics Utah CEO Scott Weaver. “The impact of these screenings on the health and wellness of people with intellectual disabilities is significant. Our Opening Eyes clinics have discovered undetected health problems, corrected vision issues, and provided free glasses to hundreds of people across Utah.” The Special Olympics Utah Opening Eyes program provides free eye assessments, prescription eyewear, sunglasses, and sports goggles to Special Olympics athletes and people with intellectual disabilities. The program’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities by optimizing their vision, eye health, and visual skills. They are hoping for another great event this year. The clinic is taking place Saturday, July 29th, from 10am to 3pm at Uintah High School.
