The Red Flag Warning from National Weather Service makes it clear that extreme caution is needed in the dry conditions in northeastern Utah and an incident south of Fort Duchesne on Tuesday really drives home the point. According to BIA Forestry and Fire officials, a fire was started
Tuesday afternoon around 2:45pm
along the highway approximately 2 miles south of Fort Duchesne. “The cause of this fire was determined to be a spark from a passing semi truck,” shares BIA Forestry and Fire. “The ‘Curve Fire’ was held to less than half an acre.” All are urged to use extreme caution when outdoors as grass and brush are extra susceptible. Remember, even equipment like lawnmowers can start fires.
