Snow might not be everyone’s favorite topic but everyone generally understands how
much it is needed to address drought conditions. The SNOTEL report from January 16th
reports that the Duchesne River Basin is measuring at 197% of normal for the Snow
Water Equivalent and the Northeastern Uintas are at 188%. To put this in perspective, one
year ago the Duchesne River Basin measured at 135% and the Northeastern Uintahs
measured at 119 percent. Two years ago, the Duchesne River Basin measured at only
65% of normal and the Northeastern Uintahs were at 67%.
